Gombe Teaching Hospital bans Cryptocurrency mining during work hours

  The Federal Teaching Hospital, Gombe, has officially prohibited its staff from engaging in cryptocurrency mining and trading during work hours. This directive was issued through a circular dated September 18, 2024, and signed by the Deputy Director of Administration, Adamu Tela.   Popular rapper Emeka Akumefule, aka Blaqbonez, has claimed that he is the most handsome artist in Nigeria. Blaqbonez said it’s unfair that he was once called “ugly” when he is more handsome than his colleagues. The rapper stated this while reacting to a post by a female fan admiring him on X. “Blaqbonez so fine,” the fan gushed. Niger: Police nab three over alleged thuggery, robbery, car theft

The Niger State Police Command has arrested two suspects for alleged armed robbery and acts of thuggery in Minna, the state capital. According to Police Public Relations Officer SP Wasiu Abiodun, on September 14, 2024, at about 10:45 pm, the Chanchaga Police Division received information that some hoodlums, numbering six, armed with cutlasses and knives, attacked some persons around Old City Gate, by Eastern Bye-pass, Minna. The hoodlums reportedly robbed the victims of their mobile phones and other valuables. According to him, police patrol teams and vigilante members mobilised to the crime scene and arrested two suspects, Abba Salihu, 20 and Amar Haladu, 18, both of Angwan Kampani, Minna, while others escaped. “The suspects were arrested with cutlasses and they confessed to having been among the miscreants attacking and causing unrest in Shango community area of Minna. News BREAKING: EFCC operatives storm Kogi Governor’s Lodge in search of Yahaya Bello

Operatives of the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, laid siege at the Kogi Government Lodge, Asokoro, on Wednesday night in an attempt to forcefully arrest former Governor Yahaya Bello. A statement issued by Bello’s Director of Media, Ohiare Michael, said EFCC operatives were shooting sporadically. Michael, while condemning the attack, urged Nigerians to hold EFCC responsible if anything happens to Bello. DAILY POST recalls that  Bello visited the EFCC office voluntarily  earlier today but the commission told him to leave and come at a later date. Kwara PDP ready for Sept 21 council polls, respects court ruling

    The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kwara State, has declared its commitment to contesting and winning the upcoming local government elections scheduled for September 21, 2024. The declaration is coming a few hours after a high court in Abuja lifted the restraining order initially placed on the Kwara State Independent Electoral Commission, KWAISEC. Nigeria Police arrest 2,740 suspected murderers, kidnappers, others

  The Nigeria Police Force says its operatives have arrested no fewer than 2,740 suspects for various crimes across the country in the past one month. Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi said in a statement on Tuesday night that the arrests followed the commitment by the Inspector-General of Police, IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, who vowed to ensure that the perpetrators of heinous crimes in Nigeria were brought to book. According to the statement, between August and September, operatives of the NPF arrested 295-armed robbery suspects, 186 kidnappers, 271 Murder/Homicide suspects, and 71 suspects for the unlawful possession of firearms Olumuyiwa also stated that 199 suspects were nabbed for sexual-related offences, 143 suspects for cultism, and 1575 suspects arrested for other crimes.   Dangote Refinery has responded to the claim by NNPC that it bought fuel at 898 naira per liter from the local refinery.   Following the lifting of petrol from the Dangote Facility located in the Ibeju-Lekki area of Lagos, spokesperson of the NNPCL, Olufemi Soneye, said;   “We successfully loaded PMS at the Dangote Refinery today. The claim that we purchased it at N760 per litre is incorrect. The Super Eagles delivered a powerful performance, highlighted by two second-half goals from  Ademola   Lookman  and substitute  Victor   Osimhen .
